How did you get into the Engineering field?
- As an incoming freshman at NC State, my art wasn't developed enough to get into the School of Design for architecture. So I went into civil engineering which turned out to be a great fit.
If you could have dinner with 1 famous person (dead or alive) who would it be?
Tell us why:
- Da Vinci was centuries ahead of his time in engineering--even though he rarely followed through with his ideas. I would love to find out what else was in his head that never made it to paper.

Professional History
Mr. Mike Mills is a Project Engineer responsible for structural design. His experience consists of structural design including pedestrian and highway bridges, new building structural design, structural renovations, historic rehabilitation, equipment support design, cost estimates, construction document preparation, and construction administration.
Mike’s highway experience includes municipal and state bridge inspections and ratings; new bridge design; metal traffic signal pole inspections; and bridge inspection and rating analysis for structures at the Raleigh-Durham Airport.
