A Note from the President

I have been blessed to practice in the diverse field of Civil Engineering since 1983, while focusing my practice in two specific areas – structural engineering and hydraulics. From my first job as a bridge designer and hydraulic bridge modeler at Thompson Gordon and Shook Engineers, to municipal work, industrial projects, higher education, healthcare and to parks and recreation, I have had numerous opportunities to learn and grow in my profession.

It is my desire to lead my fellow teammates through each new project with that same passion of discovering each unique aspect of the project that, when found, bursts forth as the best solution to the problem at hand, whether it is an existing facility or a new development.

When our team comes together, the best solutions come forth because the owner, designers, contractors, and other strategic partners and stake holders recognize the one solution that stands above all others.

Vice President, Glenn and I often lightheartedly say to each other, “I learned something new today!” We are fortunate to practice in a field that requires us to learn new codes, work with new materials, develop new designs, move into new markets, and build relationships with new clients. If we aren’t learning, growing, and leading, then we are disappearing. I also want to be learning, growing, and leading in my walk with Jesus Christ, because I can’t wait to see what eternity has in store for me!
