Alpha & Omega Group was selected in November of 2010 as the Structural Engineer for the Yates Mill Pond shelter, to provide a Structural Analysis as well as ADA regulated wheelchair access.

The structural engineering scope included, performing a site visit to determine existing conditions and construction of the shelter, performing a code analysis and structural check of members, preparing a cost estimate for engineering and construction of any recommended improvements and preparing a report summarizing
our findings.

The required wheelchair ramp spans approximately 10 feet from the porch to the top of the adjacent retaining wall. Since access will be needed only during special events, the ramp will be designed to be removable and broken down into pieces light enough to be carried and stored using hand labor.
