Alpha & Omega Group, PC, is seeking a licensed civil engineer in Raleigh, NC, to manage and oversee civil and hydraulic engineering projects. This is a full-time position and will include managing the day-to-day effort of civil engineering projects, meeting with clients and government agencies, and mentoring engineering staff.

The overall work of our civil department includes SCM, piped storm drainage, water, sanitary, grading, and erosion control design, as well as hydraulic modeling for bridge/culvert replacements, dam breach analysis, flood inundation analysis, and FEMA flood studies.

Job Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare fee proposals

  • Manage project budgets and schedules to achieve target completion dates within planned hours and target profitability

  • Manage civil team to achieve goals. Mentor recently licensed engineers and EIs [includes performance reviews, employee training, and goal development]

  • Manage civil design and plan production

  • Design, as needed, to accomplish project schedules

  • Manage client relationships and meet with government agencies

  • Manage multiple priorities and projects in a dynamic, quick-paced environment under minimal supervision

  • Occasional travel required

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering

  • Registered North Carolina Professional Engineer

  • 6-8 years of licensed experience

  • AutoCAD, Microstation, and/or GEOPAK experience

  • Knowledge of HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, or SWMM

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word

  • Dam hydraulics and hydrology experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading a team of EIs and/or recently licensed PEs

  • 10 years of licensed experience

  • Experience designing NCDOT roadway drainage and roadway erosion control

  • Knowledge of Hydraflow or other stormwater design software

  • Master’s degree in engineering

  • Registered North Carolina Professional Land Surveyor (PLS)
