lpha & Omega Group's foundation is grounded in bridge inspections for North Carolina Department of Transportation, municipalities, and private clients, with deep and varied experience among the professional staff. A&O has experience with bridges of all types, made from a variety of materials. Our methods of inspection include non-destructive field testing, in-situ concrete testing, core sampling, chloride testing, and hands-on inspection.

We are registered with NCDOT as a small professional services firm (SPSF). Six of our inspectors are team leaders, certified by the Federal Highway Administration and the National Highway Institute, with a combined total of more than 100 years of experience inspecting bridges. The teams are proficient in the use of NCDOT’s WIGINS reporting software and use Microsoft Surface Tablets to report conditions from the field.

A&O has been honored to receive not just one, but three awards for our work with North Carolina bridges. For inspection, we received the 2015 Project of the Year Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers - NC, and a 2016 Engineering Excellence Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies - NC. In addition, we received the 2011 International Concrete Repair Institute (Carolina’s chapter) Merit Award for our work on the Bonner Bridge Repairs, a project that was completed under budget by 1.8 percent.
