Alpha & Omega Group provided engineering services for the design of two bridges, one vehicular and one pedestrian, for a new housing development being constructed in Apex, NC.

Carolina Springs, a development that will provide both single and multi-family homes, required a bridge able to carry traffic across Big Branch stream to make multiple entrances to the community possible. In addition, a pedestrian bridge crossing same stream was needed to provide residents access to the greenway.

A&O coordinated with hydraulics engineers to determine the bridge’s geometry and the boardwalk layout. Afterwards, they provided construction documents, created specifications, and provided an engineer’s opinion of probable construction costs. After the design phase, A&O assisted with bidding on both bridges and performed construction administration and observation. Once the bridges were complete, A&O provided the final inspection and close out documentation.
