Alpha & Omega Group, as a subconsultant to Eaton Corporation, provided structural engineering services for the design of concrete pads or piers to support outdoor equipment such as generators, walk-in switchgear, and UPS enclosures at Back Hall on the Fort Gordon military base in Augusta, Georgia. A&O designed the piers and pads as well as assisted in the decision of which equipment required which type of support.

A&O conducted a field investigation to determine the size and spacing of the existing structural framing and analysis of existing elements. We coordinated with Eaton Corporation to determine if any conflicts exist regarding size, weight, and location of equipment, and analyzed existing supports and slab-on-grade for equipment loading. We designed and developed construction documents for new slab-on-grade and concrete support piers and pads for the equipment. We developed as-built drawings to include any field modifications during construction.
