A&O was selected by Wake County to prepare plans and specifications for the repairs of the three bridges along the American Tobacco Trail.

During one of our routine inspections of the greenway, our team discovered that three bridges on the trail needed maintenance. The Beaver Creek, Reedy Branch Creek and White Oak Creek Bridges had all suffered damage to their railings, deck boards and even some of their substructures from routine use and the elements. The team submitted their observations and recommendations to Wake County, and later we were contacted to oversee and design repairs based on our reports.

The A&O team provided design plans and project specifications for the replacement of the rails and deck boards. They also designed replacements and repairs to the substructures of all three bridges. Once the design phase was complete, A&O provided bidding assistance, site observation, construction administration, and closeout services.
