Alpha & Omega Group provided inspection services for over 200 barrels of the City of Winston-Salem’s culverts.

The City of Winston-Salem desired to set up a clear plan on how they could better maintain and repair the city’s structures. This was a part of greater efforts to improve the overall infrastructure as the city grows. The City requested Alpha & Omega group’s support to both verify the City’s existing data was accurate and to set up the order in which the culverts would require maintenance and repairs.

The A&O team preformed inspections in the field as well as updating our own GIS map to show the City the progress of the inspections in real time. The team would plan out the culverts they will visit in advance and then preform an on-site hands-on inspection while documenting and photographing any areas of deficiency. On returning to the office, the team reports on the status of each culvert, assigning a grade of Good, Fair, Poor, Critical, or Unknown, structurally and hydraulically. The GIS map was also updated to show that the culvert had been inspected. After the report was completed and reviewed, the A&O team submitted the reports to the City for approval and final comments. The final report was uploaded to the City’s GIS map as an attachment. Ω
