Bridge 330
Inspection and Repair Designs
For two adjacent beams in spans 1 and 2, there was extensive corrosion in the beams' bottom flanges and holes in the web. The team designed a system to support the damaged beams while repairs were made by cutting out the corroded section and welding in new steel sections.
A design-build project was the quickest way to get the entire bridge back open to traffic. We worked with the contractor to provide an engineering drawing with repair details and temporary shoring design. We addressed review comments from the City and inspected and certified the repairs upon completion of the work. Ω
